Art and power will go on as they have done, will make day out of night, time out of space, and space out of time.

WEST GLACIER. The Avalanche Lake Trail is another not-to-miss trail. An easy hike under moist old-growth forest cover, total loss-gain ascent ~1000ft to a serene lake surrounded by tall steeps sporting numerous falls: the name is immediately appropriate looking at the fallen trees from recent winter snow avalanches. Bowman Lake in the NW end can be accessed by either the Inside or Outside North Fork Roads, and then 6 miles up a bumpy dirt road. Worth the trip, we were the only on the lake that afternoon when we launched the fishing raft. A meditating experience.
